Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to achieve departmental goals. Identify and implement cost-saving measures within the department. Develop and implement both manual and automated production processes. Create and update process documentation and procedural instructions. Conduct labor studies to establish labor standards for various operations. Define and procure necessary tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes. Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods to improve cost, safety, productivity, and quality. Qualify and develop new specifications for manufacturing processes. Work closely with other engineering groups including Design, Assembly, Tube Fabrication, and Paint. Assist in troubleshooting and improving manufacturing equipment. Participate in the preparation and management of the departmental budget. Review preliminary designs to recommend cost reductions and improve manufacturability and quality. Develop and recommend detailed capital equipment studies. Drive lean culture initiatives and minimize production downtime during improvement projects and model year changes. Perform assessments and make critical decisions in line-down situations.Qualifications: Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for automotive experience. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to implement cost-saving measures. Experience with both manual and automated production processes. Ability to manage and lead a team effectively. Strong communication skills to provide feedback and collaborate with various engineering groups. Experience with budget preparation and management.
