Position Summary: Lori’s Gifts accounting department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will be primary responsible to ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial results, while supporting department and company-wide initiatives to develop our business and grow internal capabilities. The Senior Accountant will consistently pursue technology solutions to streamline current company’s processes. Primary Responsibilities: ? Perform and review inventory accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of GL accounts and financial statements ? Monitor slow moving inventory and assess needs for obsolescence reserves ? Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations ? Assist with completing the monthly and annual accounting close process timely and accurately. ? Assist with physical inventory counts from an accounting perspective to ensure complete and accurate counts. ? Maintain and operate effective internal controls as well as thorough procedural documentation. ? Independently prepare and respond to various ad-hoc requests from internal departments, timely and accurately. ? Cross train on other Accounting projects and responsibilities as assigned. ? Continuously look for opportunities to strengthen and/or streamline existing accounting policies and procedures. Investigate and implement advanced usage of available technology. Recommend process improvements and/or changes in accounting treatment as appropriate. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: Requires 2-5 years’ experience in accounting Experience in navigating or operating Netsuite and Mi9 Retail, or any similar ERP systems. Retail industry accounting is a plus. Proficient in MS Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions Must be detailed-oriented, a team-player, professional and ethical Must have a proactive approach and strong organizational skills Excellent time management and interpersonal skills Certifications or Licenses: Working towards a CPA is a plus Leadership/Supervisory

Responsibilities: Not needed but will train towards leading accounting cycles and various ad hoc projects, and will interact with other departments, including store operations.
