This position is responsible for providing emergency mental health assessment and intervention for all age groups in the emergency department and for providing mental health consultation to, emergency department, and medical surgical floor of the North Shore Medical Center. Also for coordination care with primary care physicians, referrers, insurance carriers or other agencies, completing and maintaining documentation and records. Represents North Shore Medical Center in a professional manner and adheres to all North Shore Medical Center policies and guidelines and state and federal regulations and program requirements.

Required To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to demonstrate any knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients serviced on his/her assigned unit. Must have ability to conduct effective interviews, manage difficult relationships, engage in high-level reasoning and planning, recall large amounts of relevant information, and communicate effectively orally and in writing. The following certifications will be required(and provided by department) within the first 6/12 months of employment: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Certification and Defibrillation Certification. Must be capable of learning new skills and information on a continuing basis.

Preferred Two years supervised clinical experience with children and families; one year of clinical internship during graduate training may be counted, while one year should be postgraduate.

Required Master's in social work, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or closely related area.

Required CPI and CPR Cert.

Preferred Licensed mental health provider; LSW, LISW, RN in Massachusetts
