Description

Faith Comes By Hearing is seeking a dynamic Communications Coordinator to join our team and help amplify our global impact. In this role, you'll work closely with senior leadership, crafting key messages and managing promotional projects across various media platforms. You'll be responsible for coordinating media databases, responding to media requests, and gathering stories, testimonies, and photos from our international partners for use in our ministry's promotional materials. You'll also play a critical role in managing crisis communication plans and supporting a range of exciting communications projects.

1. Assist senior leadership with presentation scripting, PPTs, and additional writing projects with the ability to create and project their vision and voice

2. Serve as liaison between ministry partners and donors in highly sensitive situation with diplomacy

3. Advise leadership on public relations, legal issues and relevant news

4. Project manage senior leadership's special communication projects, including radio media and other media avenues

5. Monitor and review media coverage analytics in order to make data driven recommendations

6. Develop and strengthen relationships with media representatives

7. Respond to media requests

8. Coordinate and assemble field testimonies for senior leadership's promotional portfolio and promotional events

9. Provide guidance and work with leadership on executing/managing crisis communication plan when needed

10. Coordinate outreach to local Christian schools, homeschool co-ops, and other organizations to schedule facility tours and community engagement events

Duties in support of the department:

11. Identify and coordinate interview opportunities for key staff members via various media

12. Identify and promote FCBH stories to media and create and strategize international press releases.

13. Research and implement latest trends and best practices for ministry public relations

14. Coordinate outside contracts/planning with media agencies

15. Perform general Public Relation duties as needed (Manage PR opportunities and situations as they arise)

16. Assist with various Communication Department needs

17. Travel as needed

Requirements

  1. 5+ years of Communications experience, preferably in a ministry/non-profit setting; Media/Public Relations experience a plus
  2. Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field
  3. Superior writing and editing skills; excellent verbal communication skills with diverse audiences
  4. Strong project management skills; ability to work with tight deadlines
  5. Proven ability to prioritize and manage workload
  6. Pleasant personality with ability to connect with leadership, staff, partners, donors, media representatives.
  7. Knowledge of cultural differences and issues as they apply in working with international partners
  8. Excellent proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  9. Ability to handle highly sensitive situations with diplomacy
