Position Overview

We provide our utility clients with a wide range of energy-saving and renewable energy solutions. From individual utility customers and construction contractors, to utilities, municipalities, and government bodies, our clients have come to depend on our customized energy efficiency programs to help them to meet their energy saving goals.

The Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for deepening customer awareness of and participation in the program suite including identifying and developing relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups, networks and directly organizing and attending meetings and events. This role will also be responsible for preparing and presenting presentations informing the community of the various energy waste reduction programs that the utility offers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups and networks across program territory
  • Create and staff direct-to-customers outreach opportunities including meetings of varied size and scope, including presentations and events
  • Assist program management and Marketing/Creative team in development of communication materials for assigned programs. These may include case studies, invitations, program descriptions and presentations
  • Collaborate with local partner organizations to share program updates and cross-promote resources
  • Assist Marketing team as directed with participation in larger trade show and seminar events
  • Manage event coordination from initiation to follow-up including tracking promotion, RSVP's, securing venues, coordinating room preparation, and food service
  • Track results of outreach efforts in Salesforce and report these to management
  • Create and modify documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for uploading to SharePoint

Competency Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Booth Design and Setup
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle a wide variety of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter and have the ability to prioritize workload
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong data entry skills when entering information in tracking systems/databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit and or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Noise level is typically moderate

Basic Qualification

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, community organizing, or event coordinating
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up 70% of the time, including some evenings/weekends

  • Noise level is typically moderate
