- Ensure the billing process is efficient and proper coding of skilled services.
- Verify patients have a viable payer source.
- Coaching the families on Medicaid process and working alongside the family and case worker until approved
- Ensure daily deposits are completed timely.
- Ensure private and income payments are paid timely.
- Account review on an ongoing basis.
- Process RFMS payments and reconcile monthly.
- Maintain a positive relationship with families and case workers.
- Must be dedicated to ensuring work tasks are completed timely.
- Respond timely to billing inquires, which would include but not limited to, correcting claims, submitted adjusted claims and rebilling.
- Document on accounts as they are worked.
- Ability to multitask.
- Technical knowledge of Inpatient Skilled Nursing, Managed Care and long-term care billing for Medicare and Medicaid.
- One to two year's experience in accounts receivable or bookkeeping is preferred in the long-term care or healthcare industry.
- Experience managing staff members, including bookkeepers and receptionists.
- Knowledge of basic office equipment & Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of billing software preferred.
- Superior organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to multi-task.
- Good interpersonal skills needed to effectively work with residents, families, and outside agencies.
