PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer - Electronics Production Support to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Pompano Beach, FL. This is an initial 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.Job Description:We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Combat Mission Systems business in the area of ground combat vehicles. The candidate will work closely with one or more of our electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacture of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA)/circuit card assembly (CCA) and the associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures for one of our combat vehicle systems. The selected candidate will be co-located with assigned suppliers to ensure an ongoing high level of production quality is met. The primary supplier location for this position is Melbourne, Florida, USA.The engineer must have experience in the design and manufacture of PCBAs/CCAs and will help resolve supplier quality and manufacturing process concerns in direct support of production. The engineer will investigate, evaluate, and support the resolution of supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects. Strong communication skills are required to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations; make progress reports and present findings. The role requires familiarity with, and experience in, IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001, as well as subordinate IPC standards/guidelines. A working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 is also strongly desired. Expected Travel Requirement: The regular work location for the candidate is at the supplier facility, 10% or less.Support team led problem-solving and root-cause analysis activities with assigned suppliers to eliminate the recurrence of non-conformances.•Evaluate the impact of nonconforming products and assess suppliers' corrective actions.•Help suppliers with process improvements to ensure to resolve manufacturing process concerns.•Drive a "Zero Defect" mentality within the supply base.•Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings within the Integrated Product Team. Please note that pursuant to a government contract.Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Related Technical Discipline US Citizenship At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant function and industry Working knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001 Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/ Preventative Actions Effective, practical problem solver using structured problem-solving methods and systems Understanding of technical drawing requirements with the ability to determine compliance Computer skills include MS Office Suite and related industry software applications. Effective, clear communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skillsDesired Experience: Certification to IPC-A-600 Experience with the design of PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries Experience with fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries Experience with production line validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of fabricated products Exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems and AS9102B First Article Requirements or comparable industry standards Experience with Low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management Experience with Servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and test experienceDesired Skills: Design of PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620 Fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries Production line validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of fabricated products Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
