**The Role**
The Sr. Buyer/Planner role at Seer is responsible for the set up and management of new suppliers, negotiating contracts, developing and implementing stocking strategies to support a growing business environment, places purchases orders, implements production control functions including releasing work orders, monitoring production status, reporting on back-orders, escalating risks.
The ideal candidate will possess the skills and aptitude of a seasoned professional with a full understanding of area of specialization and resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. The Sr. Buyer/Planner is expected to complete routine work with a high level of competence and can resolve mid-complexity non-standard situations by applying previous knowledge and experience. Work is independent and collaborative in nature. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work; general instructions on new assignments.
**Responsibilities & Goals**
* Plans, organizes and executes activities related to Supply Chain including setting up new vendors in ERP system. (NetSuite)
* Places POs to support Inventory targets
* Coordinates receiving and returns defective parts to suppliers
* Develop and maintain the MPS
* Execute Production Plan on a weekly and Monthly basis by releasing work orders to the floor
* Coordinates S/O shipments with the logistics team.
* Manages the S&OP process
* Create and maintain master data for new purchased materials as well as understand how master data drives material requirements planning
* Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet inventory targets and minimize shortages.
* Full understanding of reorder point and safety stock calculations based on historical consumption.
* Ability to proactively identify potential part shortages, work with vendors to prevent shortages, understand vendor capacity and constraint as well as when to escalate potential shortages.
* Perform material pricing negotiations
* Review and set up MSA with suppliers
* Drive the implementation of change orders (ECOs). Which includes timely disposition of all obsolete, excess, exhaust, and rework material related to the CO both internally and at supplier locations.
**Background & Qualifications**
* BS/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
* A minimum of 5 years of diversified experience in Procurement and Supply Chain.
* Ideal candidate has ERP experience and demonstrated results in planning/procurement of a variety of commodities, materials shortage management, inventory control support as well as supplier performance metrics.
* A proven track record of delivering on commitments within timeline and budget is required.
* Demonstrated high level skills in managing complex projects.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent written and oral skills.
* Thrive in a team-oriented high-performing environment with high accountability for delivering results.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PP, outlook)
* APICS CPIM/CSCP certification a plus
