Sr. Mechatronics Engineer-Hardware:

Design, develop, and validate powertrain mechatronic systems for heavy duty diesel engines, aftertreatment and transmissions.
Drive technical development and strategic planning for the enhancement of vehicle features of Non-Captive Transmissions, focusing on feature and function development.
Lead development and guide validation of Non-Captive Transmission integration with the suppliers and Org's feature/functions, to include, but not limited to, HMI, driver interactions, hardware limitations, predictive technologies, telematics.
Lead integration and guide validation of powertrain functions and their interactions with braking systems.
Develop fault handling and diagnostic solutions to facilitate swift troubleshooting while aligning with Org's requirements and global standards. Provided technical support to engineering, customer service and manufacturing plants.
Designed and implemented technical requirements for Functional Safety (ISO26262) and maintain global alignment with the safety goals.

Participate actively in testing activities and workshops to verify and enhance powertrain systems and functions continually.
Guide validation engineers on balancing validation efforts between Vehicle/Powertrain/ Supplier and simulation, HiL, vehicle testing.
Represent Org's technically within internal and external meetings and workshops, fostering collaboration with components and connectivity teams to deliver cohesive solutions for our customers.
Focus on the integration between the mechanical, electrical and systems components of the vehicle
Designs and troubleshoots advanced systems, and focuses on how to integrate these systems into new and existing design concepts

Required: Bachelor’s degree focused in Electrical, Power Systems, Computer Science or related Engineering field plus 4 years of related experience.
Must have experience with development of systems / software for ICE or electric vehicles with familiarization on vehicle networks, CAN / communication protocols.
Experience with the design of embedded systems, especially controls development for series ICE or ZEV vehicle projects.
Utilizing or executing of development and validation activities in a HiL environment.
Must have knowledge of interaction of mechatronic systems in automobiles or heavy duty trucks.
Experience with Functional Safety for automotive electronics products.
Demonstrated development experience working with cross-functional international teams to implement software & control requirements.
Moderate travel (~20%), especially initially.

Preferred: Master’s degree focused in Electrical, Power Systems, or related Engineering field plus 5 years of related experience.
5+ years of experience in ICE or Electric powertrain systems development
Experience with Vector tools, Matlab, Simulink
Experience with Autonomous vehicle systems and their integration with ICE and ZEV commercial vehicles.
CDL Class A commercial driver's license
Functional Safety Certification - ISO 26262
General electronics/mechatronics troubleshooting experience.
