Description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the QA team responsible for in-process and end item product testing.
  • Ensure the company product hold policies and procedures are communicated and followed. Recommend the suspension of product or the release of product when quality standards are not achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP, Food Safety, and Safety standards
  • Resolve customer complaints and maintains necessary records regarding the problems resolution. Meet with vendors, customers, and quality representatives to discuss and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop quality related operating policies and procedures as necessary.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • 4 year degree in food science or related field required
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in quality assurance/quality control
  • Specific knowledge and direct experience in ensuring adherence with FDA and USDA regulations, plant production processes/systems, SQF, GMP, and HACCP
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with other team members as well as customers and auditors
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to effectively articulate and present the company's quality strategy
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask


Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Position will frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits and other allergens are present.
