Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a Private Equity backed SaaS company to identify a Controller to join their growing team. The Controller will have hands-on responsibility for the daily operations of the accounting/finance function while partnering with the broader senior management team to drive the strategic financial growth of the company.
Why the Controller opportunity?
- The Company: Growing SaaS company with nearly $20M in revenue transitioning from an entrepreneurial stage environment to a sophisticated financial organization.
- The Growth: Profitable company with that grew 25% last year and is forecasted to grow another 20-25% this year.
- Opportunity: As the right hand to the CFO, the Controller will be charged with building out the accounting/finance administration infrastructure to support the run rate of the company.
- The Exposure: The CFO will be expected to provide business and operational analysis, strategic insight, and tactical financial support to be an effective business partner and trusted advisor to the senior management (CEO/VP Operations, and VP Infrastructure) and private equity partners.
- Compensation: Base + Bonus + Equity
The Controller's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reporting to CEO and overseeing a staff of 4, the Controller will have responsibility for the oversight of all aspects of the day-to-day financial management of the company including: the preparation of the monthly financial package; management of GL accounts, annual audit and submission of government and related tax returns; and financial planning.
- Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
- Further develop guidelines and processes corresponding to the rapid growth of the company.
- Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
- C.P.A., M.B.A. or master's degree in finance is preferred, but not required.
- 7+ years of total experience. Must have hands-on experience working in an accounting and financial management function in a high growth company.
- SaaS experience is required.
- Experience establishing and implementing process improvement initiatives within a high growth environment.
