Group Summary
Magna is an innovative leader in the development and manufacturing of seating structures, foam and trim, mechanisms, and complete seats for global automotive, heavy truck and bus industries. Seating is at the center of the consumer vehicle experience and our seating solutions are developed from consumer research, prioritizing comfort, convenience and connectivity.
About the Role
Under the direction of the Controller, responsible for managing the accounting functions. Develops, implements and maintains the necessary systems and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial statements and data.
Your Responsibilities
•Provides leadership and daily direction to the Finance Department members.
•Ensures all accounting transactions are recorded in an effective and timely manner in accordance with GAAP.
•Writes month end journal entries and accruals.
•Responsible for plant/program CBA analysis and ROS tracking.
•Lead costing/quote function utilizing standard add/delete and ROS process.
•Performs month end accounting functions including balance sheet account reconciliations.
•Balances intercompany accounts.
•Completes weekly cash forecast.
•Assists with analyzing and evaluating plant operating expenses.
•Assists with year end closing.
•Completes monthly assets performance package.
•Assists in budget and forecasting in accordance with Business Planning process.
•Takes the Lead on conducting internal and external auditing procedures; and ensures Management Controls are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404.
•Serves as back-up to the accounting staff.
•Ensures the thoroughness and timely completion of scheduled performance reviews for all employees under their supervision.
•Ensures that the Corporate Quarterly Schedules are completed on time.
•Provides information for the Minority spending on a monthly basis.
•Inventory Tag Control for physical inventory done annually.
•Ensures all Company policies, procedures, plant standards, and rules are consistently adhered to.
•All other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
Your preferred qualifications
•Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting and finance experience in a JIT Automotive manufacturing environment including a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory responsibility.
•Demonstrates strong leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to customers, suppliers, vendors, management, employees and corporate personnel.
•Excellent analytical, problem resolution and project management skills.
•Knowledgeable of cost accounting methods relating to OEM applications in a manufacturing environment.
•Proficient in Word, Excel and accounting/finance software systems.
