I - Job Purpose and Summary:

Reporting to the Site General Manager, the purpose of this role is to establish and maintain company HSE policies and programs such that all legislative, regulatory, divisional and ABF/I group requirements are satisfied in an effective and timely manner.

Working closely with the Site General Manager and local managers, the HSE Manager will support, monitor and audit the implementation of the company HSE policies and procedures ensuring that the necessary framework is in place for the HSE management systems to operate effectively.

Acting as the primary conduit for all HSE information and data both entering and leaving the site's business, the HSE Manager will build positive relationships and will work closely with relevant enforcement and regulatory parties, ABF/I group and divisional personnel. Role will promote effective internal communication and will coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting, along with the provision of clear site objectives and plans.

II - Key Accountabilities:

1. HSE: Promote a safe work environment at all times through the adherence to all PGP's HSE policies and procedures as well as to all relevant Indiana and Federal (OSHA) regulations in order to achieve ZERO workplace incidents and injuries. Awareness of California regulations - sharing of knowledge and best practices through regular contact with HSE Manager in California.

2. Annual HSE Plan: Manage/facilitate the development of the site annual HSE plan and the alignment with PGP annual HSE plans and monitor implementation.

3. Investigations: Monitor and review all incident investigations - near misses, first aid, recordable, environmental etc. - ensuring that root causes have been identified and actions created.

4. Site Visits & Networking: Support site visits by regulators, external agencies, or Group/Divisional personnel as necessary, positively promoting PGP and acting as the "company voice" on HSE related matters. Proactively develop positive relations with local HSE regulatory and compliance bodies and medical work comp practitioners.

5. Audits & Reporting:

- Create and implement a routine audit program which assures compliance to all company HSE policies and procedures and monitors the effectiveness of the management systems. These systems should provide for agreed certifications/accreditations to be maintained with ISO standards (example ISO14001).

- Oversee and audit the HSE SharePoint database ensuring that monthly information is available and accurate by the 5th working day of the month. Share the monthly data accordingly.

- Facilitate/audit/monitor the timely preparation and submission of all relevant regulatory HSE reports including OSHA 300, Waste and Storm Water Management (WMD), Air Quality Management (AQMD), Hazardous Waste, SARA (Tier II, Form R), CERS, SPCC, etc. Likewise for ABF/ABFI monthly and annual reports (for example, SharePoint, GHG, ESG etc.)

- Routinely review for compliance, responses and actions associated with external audits such as ERM, property management risk assessments, security programs, sustainability questionnaires, insurance agencies, etc.

6. Business Continuity: Support the company Business Continuity Management process (BCM), performing the role of custodian of the company Risk Management program at executing the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) at site.

7. HSE Permits & Capex: Facilitate, monitor (and support where necessary) the availability of all relevant HSE permits. Provide guidance and advice as necessary. Provide advice and support as appropriate during the preparation and implementation of Capex projects - including the requirement for permits or permit updates.

8. Training Program: Maintain and execute training programs to ensure that the company complies with all legislative, regulatory, divisional, and ABF/I requirements, as well as enhancing employees' personal development. Create, provide and monitor/audit training records to ensure completeness.

Internal : All levels of organization, Site General Manager, Quality, Operations, Warehouse/Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE (CA & other sister companies)

External: Regulators, medical work comp professionals, service providers, advisors, suppliers, OSHA and environmental

Requirements

IV - Job Requirements (Required and Preferred):

Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Related Experience

•At least 5 years of HSE related management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably food manufacturing environment) or equivalent.

•Experience in safety or environmental management.

•Experience in managing sustainability agenda.

V - Work/Employment Conditions and Other Requirements:

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. This role routinely uses manufacturing equipment. The environment is hot, cold, wet, dusty, and loud. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment on the manufacturing floor (hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes and GMP's requirements).

Physical and Sensory Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; twist, bent, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms overhead and grip; climb stairs, work from heights up to 40 feet; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 55 pounds.

Working Schedule: RFT - Regular Full Time; available resource for investigations

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to Woodland, CA (annual Extended Leadership meeting)
