Job Overview: Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Project Manager specializing in Release Management and Application Development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and experience in coordinating application development projects and managing software releases. As a Technical Project Manager, you will ensure that application development initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and deliver high-quality releases.

Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical project management, specifically in application development and release management.
  • Proven track record of managing complex software development projects from inception to completion.

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Microsoft Project).
  • Familiarity with release management tools and processes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with application development frameworks and programming languages.
  • Experience in a specific industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, e-commerce) relevant to the company's business.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for application development projects.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including developers, QA testers, and business analysts.

Release Management
  • Plan, manage, and oversee software release processes to ensure timely and smooth releases.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, operations, and product teams to schedule releases and ensure all pre-release activities are completed.
  • Manage and mitigate release-related risks and issues.

Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Facilitate communication between development teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.

Technical Oversight
  • Ensure technical feasibility of project solutions and adherence to best practices in software development.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to address technical challenges and ensure that project deliverables meet functional and non-functional requirements.

Quality Assurance
  • Implement and manage quality assurance processes to ensure that application releases meet the defined acceptance criteria and quality standards.
  • Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Risk and Issue Management
  • Identify potential project and release risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Resolve project and release issues promptly and effectively.

Resource Management
  • Allocate and manage project resources, ensuring optimal use of team members' skills and expertise.
  • Coordinate with other project managers and resource managers to resolve resource conflicts and dependencies.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive project and release documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-release evaluations.

Education
