Our FamilyAdvocates are an integral member of our team that bring support in a case management style and act as a liaison between families,staff, the community, and other family-related services. The Advocacy Center provides services to Denton, Wise, and Jack counties. This position will have a designated office location, but travel between all offices will be required on occasion. This position is responsible for managing the case management and advocacy with families that are involved in investigations of severe child abuse. This position ensures that a trusting and collaborative process is implemented in each family with a specific focus on the best interest of the child, recognizing and identifying each family's risk and protective factors, respecting the diverse cultures and values of each family, and establishing professional roles and boundaries while working with families. Essential Functions:Provide consistent follow up with clients as a liaison between families and partner agencies.Coordinate direct services programs (Back to School, Christmas).Provide case management including the following, but not limited to:Follow up with clients, serving as a liaison between the client and various systemsConduct crisis case management and intensive case managementEducate families on criminal and/or civil process in relation child abuseAssist clients in completing applications for Texas Crime Victims Compensation benefitsProvide information, internal and external referrals to existing clients and outside referralsProvide court accompaniment when appropriateDocument all services provided to clients according to agency requirements and guidelinesEnsure maintenance of appropriate resource materials for client waiting/activity and information areasEnsure maintenance of Rainbow RoomParticipate in team activities including multidisciplinary case reviewsParticipate in training, continuing education, and victim advocacy peer reviewParticipate in the On-Call rotation, requiring after-hours and holiday availabilityAttend community meetings and interface with professionals in the field of child abuse and social servicesOther duties as assignedTravelThis position is based in the Bridgeport, TX office, but candidate must be willing to work at all offices (Bridgeport, Lewisville, and Denton) offices when agency needs arise.Education and TrainingBachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field.Master's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.ExperienceA minimum of 2 years of experience in providing victim advocacy and/or case management.Experience working with law enforcement, CPS, DA's Office, preferred.Experience working with children and families and knowledge of child abuse issues, preferred.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferredBenefit Package Includes:Paid Vacation TimePaid HolidaysMedical, Dental, and Vision401(k) Matching if 21 years of age or olderPaid Medical Leave and Maternity/Paternity Leaveand moreThe company provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation/identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by state, federal, or local law.
