Job Summary

In a highly technical metal fabrication environment, you will apply advanced knowledge of engineering principles and analyses to support a range of Manufacturing Engineering activities. This includes solving issues related to tool and fixture design, manufacturing processes, product improvement, and support of daily production operations. You will work as part of a team and have ownership to ensure design requirements are met and comply with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating technical resources to identify the root cause, and develop and manage a plan to fix, test, and implement an appropriate solution through completion.
  • Responsible for ensuring project risks, both technical risks and management risks, are identified and appropriately addressed within the project plan. Develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Work as a lead project team member to complete all activities needed to conclude projects per plans. Responsible for project planning and scheduling, clarifying and defining scope of work and project specifications.
  • Run new development parts, ensure issues are addressed prior to release to manufacturing, and deliverables are completed and documented.
  • Write, review, and approve manufacturing methods and quality inspection plans, ensuring that drawing and specification requirements are met and validated.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred or at minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering experience.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid knowledge/experience in sheet metal fabrication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of MRP (JobBoss preferred)
  • Experience in creating and understanding engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, tolerancing, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Ability to create, maintain; and review 2D and 3D drawings for parts and tools.
  • Generate concept tooling based on part drawing , model , sample part or verbal instruction.
  • Assist with hands on debugging of manufacturing problems.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
