The position is responsible for collecting, compiling, verifying, and analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions. The senior accountant is the main point of contact for customers and other departments. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Operational Efficiency (40%): * Documents and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current policies/procedures and recommends improvements. * Looks for ways to improve procedures through automation, making the department more effective and efficient. * Serves as a subject matter expert for various functions within the department. * Ensure SLA deadlines are met. * Coordinates and communicates with other departments to maintain financial integrity. * Provides training to Accounting staff on procedures and other department processes. Monthly Close & Audit Support (40%): * Maintains account reconciliations on a daily and/or monthly basis to ensure accuracy. * Reviews daily financial transactions (receipts, invoices, payments, etc.) for accuracy. * Handles day-to-day unusual financial transactions, including verifying and classifying. * Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. * Assist in monitoring and updating key internal controls. * Gather and review support for audit requests. Miscellaneous Tasks (20%): * Ad-hoc reporting and projects, as requested. * Assists in various quarterly and annual reporting requirements * Mentor and assist with staff development * Subject matter expert in Oracle for area of responsibility Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA): * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field required. * 5+ years of directly related Accounting work experience required. * Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel operations with a solid knowledge base of other Microsoft Office products. Pivot table and advanced functions experience preferred. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. * Solid background in computerized accounting systems, experience in Dynamics GP and Management Reporter (MR) is beneficial. * A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential. * Motivated and self-driven with continuous process improvement goal. * Handle confidential information in a responsible manner. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. #LI-ES #LI-ONSITE The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
