Our facility has nine OR's and radiology services. There are also nine patient and family-friendly inpatient rooms for longer recovery needs.TIS was founded and is jointly owned by a select group of highly acclaimed Dallas surgeons and Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas.TIS surgeons specialize in orthopedic surgery, back and spine surgery, ENT procedures, plastic surgery, foot and ankle surgery, urological surgical care, sports medicine and other specialties.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Accurately verifies/inputs physician medication orders for inpatients and outpatients via CPOE; Contacts providers about appropriate substitutions, if needed, due to a patient's allergy; Provides drug/dosing information to nurses, providers, or patients when neededPerforms daily prospective order review of PACU orders; Follows policies and procedures; prioritizes workflow to ensure quality of servicesVerifies patients' medications brought from home; Acquires non-formulary medications if deemed necessary by a providerAssists with ordering or receiving narcotics from wholesalerTroubleshoots pharmacy and nursing CPSI issues and Pyxis issues as they ariseMaintains electronic physician order sets (adds or removes medications upon physician request)Compounds low and medium risk sterile preparations or performs the end product checking of the sterile preparations compounded by techniciansPerforms weekly narcotic checks on each A-System; Performs monthly checks of each Pyxis Medstation, including the C-II safe. Helps check crash carts and certain areas of the pharmacy.Works in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements; keeps current with RASMAS, as well as new trends and procedures; Maintains appropriate records and statistics; prepares reports and correspondence as necessaryAttends all Code Blue events while on duty; provides Medication safety presentation at Nursing Orientation as scheduledQualificationsQualifications:Education & Training:Licenses / Certifications:Minimum Bachelor's of Science degree from an accredited school of pharmacy requiredPossession of a valid Registered Pharmacist License to practice pharmacy in the State of TexasDoctorate degree preferredPossession of a Sterile Pharmaceutical Compounding CertificationBLS CertificationExperience:Key Skills:Minimum 2 years of experience requiredComputer literate, with proficiency in MS Office products preferredAcute care experience preferredExcellent communication skillsExperience verifying physician's electronic medications ordersMust have good ethics Ability to perform arithmetic computations, measurements, and conversionsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
