Summary: The Resource Navigator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population while maintaining compliance with established program standards.
To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the
following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

Essential Functions:
1. Outreach and recruitment of participants for Family Resource Center activities, including efforts for minimizing attrition.
2. Establishes and maintains a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
3. Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
4. Utilizes intake and assessment results to establish and effectively implement goals, objectives, and activities identified with parents.
5. Provides intensive case management services to families for up to 90 days.
6. Utilizes intake and assessment results to establish and effectively implement goals, objectives, and activities identified with parents.
7. Conducts systematic follow-ups for all families.
8. Records all group and individualized services and activities in a complete, concise, and timely manner utilizing program forms into PEIRS (DFPS) and Sales Force software.
9. Meets with supervisor on a bi-weekly basis to evaluate status of families on caseload.

Measurable Deliverables:
1. Obtains and maintains certification in the National Family Support Network (NFSN) within 60 days of hire.
2. Obtains and maintains training in (NFSN) Developing and Sustaining Effective Parent Advisory Committees.
3. Obtains and maintains certification in (skills-based) evidence-based curriculum selected by FRC Parent Advisory Committee
4. Provide parent & health education, case management, resource and referrals, basic needs support, transportation assistance, and/or other support services to families on caseload.
5. Document all attendance on a weekly basis in Sales Force software.
6. Attend all required trainings.
7. Provide community education on child abuse and neglect prevention strategies.
8. Develop together with Lead Resource Navigator, updates, reminders, and community education information.
9. Provide Resource Navigation to families accessing the FRC
10. Conduct/Facilitate Parent Cafes, Family Connections Events, Caregiver Support Groups, Skill-based Workshops
11. Act as a liaison between FRC families, Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), and local coalitions, task forces, and advocacy groups in Bexar County
12. Provide/facilitate training for families on self-advocacy and leadership.
13. Conduct 90-day and/or 1-year follow up calls for all families as required by contract

Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to:
o First Aid o CPR o Other
2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
3. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)
5. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and
socio-economic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
c. Work in a fast-paced environment.
d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
f. Travel as needed.
g. Manage time effectively and efficiently.
6. Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
