A Day in the Life

The Broiler Cook is responsible for broiling all meats according to standard recipes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up the broiler.
  • Broil and grill all meats on the menu as ordered.
  • Prepare sauces and accompanying garnishes for all broiled and grilled menu items.
  • Cover, date and neatly store all meats, poultry and seafood.
  • Clean and sanitize the boiler station.
  • Set-up, maintain and break down butcher station.
  • Notify Sous Chef in advance of all expected shortages.
  • Ensure that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary.
  • Adhere to state and local health and food safety regulations.
  • Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the broiler area and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school required.
  • 3 months related experience or training.
  • Knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule and/or overtime, if needed.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
