As a Impound Specialist II, you will be responsible for coordinating with customer and finance company, counsel customers on the Uninsured Wreck process when needed and ensure we are in compliance when securing these vehicles. You will work with the customer to secure the collateral and provide assistance to satisfy their account.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicating Uninsured Wreck Process with customers.
  • Evaluate vehicle condition to determine if the vehicle is a total loss or repairable.
  • Auditing customers account for lease satisfaction amount.
  • Setting up and completing loan documents for repair side loans.
  • Collecting fees owed to satisfy customers lease agreement.
  • Answer phones calls from auctions, contractors, customers, shops/impound lots, and internal American Financial departments.
  • Evaluate vehicle condition, value and determine most cost-effective manner to secure and sell vehicle and to determine when vehicle is not worth repossession.
  • Ensure Statutory Notices and compliance requirements are adhered to.
  • Ensure that the abandoned process guidelines are adhered to.
  • Work with our repossession contractor network to ensure ABAN related repossession requests are being processed, vehicles are secured and transported to auction.
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls with customers, discussing options for leases that have reached maturity.
  • Contact Impound lots and repair facilities to negotiate fees owed to secure vehicles.
  • Communicating timelines and expectations with customers throughout the lease maturity and potential buyout process.
  • Receiving and resolving inquiries from 3rd parties, customers, and internal departments.
  • Provide input to improve the efficiency of processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality of process.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Proven time management, prioritization, critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, and organization skills.
  • Strong desire to assist customers in vehicle purchase.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to learn and perform various tasks as workflow changes.
  • Possess extreme attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills.
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and senior management.
  • Document account notes clearly and efficiently.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Operate office equipment (copy machines, fax, telephone, and keyboard).
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service or collections experience.
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience.
  • Able to work Saturdays.
