Job Title - Speech Language Therapist

Job Duties:

The Speech Language Therapist will report to the Head of School/Principal/CEO and will complete but is not limited to the following duties:
  • Review student speech/language abilities and apply appropriate therapies; consult with staff and parents regarding student speech and language skills.
  • Remediate and develop speech and language skills in the areas of articulation, oral motor competence, word retrieval, critical thinking, problem-solving, sequencing, expressive and receptive language, comprehension, phonemic awareness, auditory processing, fluency, voice, and hearing.
  • Design appropriate instructional plans, considering student interpersonal and learning styles, and provide positive and frequent feedback.
  • Review each student's IEP and provide student-appropriate therapy and intervention.
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other professionals.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Participate in parent and/or child study team meetings.
  • Serve on student activity committees.
  • Show initiative and creativity in utilizing professional resources.
  • Share professional ideas and resources with staff members.
  • Facilitate the development of non-verbal, oral, and written communication.
  • Support the philosophy and vision of The Newgrange School.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Job Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in speech pathology, a valid New Jersey Speech-Language Certificate, a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC),
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate activities,
  • Experience in developing specialized approaches to learning, and working with staff to facilitate the transfer and carryover of skills across the curriculum.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team environment,
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills •
  • Current New Jersey State Licensure
  • NJDOE Fingerprints Required.
