Summary

The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for scope, schedule and budget of projects managed.
  • Responsible for the financial success projects.
  • Responsible for the timely collection of accounts receivable.
  • Oversee the allocation of manhours and resources for projects and evaluate them against what is being produced and the timeframe it is being produced in.
  • Monitor the schedules to see that things are progressing on time. Discuss adjustments.
  • Perform QA / QC of plans, calculations, reports, etc. before approving and ultimately signing and sealing.
  • Oversee permitting activities and coordinate with permitting team as needed.
  • Oversee construction administration activities.
  • Oversee close out activities.
  • Delivers quality projects on time and under budget.
  • Responsible for proposal preparation, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and receivables of client's payments.
  • Responsible for the procurement of new clients/projects.
  • Client maintenance.
  • Attend select marketing/business development meetings.
  • Attend select events and conferences.
  • Participate in marketing meetings as appropriate for the area of expertise.
  • Position the firm for repeat business and sole source selection whenever possible. Report all opportunities to the Team Leader and Business Development and assist as directed.

Job Description:

A Project Manager is a licensed Civil Engineer who reports directly to their Team Leader and is an experienced, competent engineer who understands the technical requirements of designing complex civil projects and can lead, guide, and advise clients, projects, and design teams. You have broad technical knowledge and experience with the design and construction of a variety of civil design projects. Leveraging that knowledge and experience, you are the primary person responsible for leading a design team that executes all types of site/civil engineering projects involving four or fewer sub-consultants.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

  • Graduate of a four-year bachelor's degree program in engineering.
  • Eight+ years of experience
  • Licensed/accredited professional within the field of practice.
  • Exhibits proficiency in the following areas:
  1. Team building and leadership skills.
  2. Technical knowledge of projects and contracts.
  3. Ability to effectively plan project schedules and budgets.
  4. Organizational skills.
  5. Entrepreneurial and business development skills.
  • Be responsible for generating billings at a minimum of $600k annually.
  • Proficient knowledge of applicable design or modeling software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Water CAD, Storm CAD, ICPR, GIS, Sketch-Up, Microsoft or related software packages).
  • Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in understanding local codes and technical design requirements of local jurisdictions.
  • Team oriented.
