OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content. JOB DESCRIPTION The Weather Anchor is responsible for analyzing weather data, providing accurate current conditions, and forecasting in an engaging manner for broadcast and digital platforms. Key Responsibilities: Utilize weather equipment to craft and present weather segments. Communicate weather reports clearly with proper language and on-camera presence. Engage with audiences on social media and digital channels. Convey urgent weather updates effectively to the public. Stay up-to-date with the latest in weather technology. Collaborate with newsroom staff for content creation and participate proactively in a team setting. Qualifications: Proficiency in weather-related technology and newsroom operations. Skilled in delivering unscripted commentary and working under pressure. Strong journalistic ethics and effective communication skills. Ability to multitask and collaborate. Education & Experience: Preferred 5+ years as a weather anchor and a related bachelor's degree. AMS Seal or NWS certification is desirable, along with severe weather forecasting experience. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $35.00-45.00 per hour.
