Engineered Solutions Service Writer

C & B Material Handling, LLC (part of the C & B Equipment family), a leader and supplier of choice in material handling equipment, automation solutions, and industrial equipment rental, is seeking a Service Writer for our Engineered Solutions team based in Virginia or West Virginia. This role plays a key part in supporting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by managing service documentation, scheduling, and coordinating essential maintenance tasks for our warehouse and manufacturing logistics projects. Essential Duties:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for service inquiries, effectively communicating with customers to assess their needs and coordinate service appointments.
  • Prepare and manage service work orders, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation for each job.
  • Schedule and track installation and maintenance work, providing status updates to customers and team members.
  • Collaborate with parts and service teams to confirm necessary materials and resources are ready for each project.
  • Maintain up-to-date service records and customer data in the system for quick access and efficient tracking.
  • Assist in processing service-related invoices and managing warranty claims to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts by gathering relevant information and relaying it to the appropriate service team members.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a service writer, coordinator, or similar customer support role, ideally within the material handling, logistics, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail for accurate documentation and scheduling.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with service management software is preferred.
  • A customer-focused attitude and commitment to high-quality service.
