This need is for a CERTIFIED Central Sterile Tech 2 Years CURRENT experience - Required Travel experience - Preferred CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS BLS (AHA) CBSPD HSPA (IAHCSMM) ADDITIONAL LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Certification(s) MUST be uploaded with profile *Job Overview* The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This position requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of sterile processing techniques, medical terminology, and anatomy. *Responsibilities* * Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols. * Operate sterilization equipment and monitor cycles to ensure proper functioning. * Conduct routine inspections of instruments for damage or wear, reporting any issues as necessary. * Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are met. * Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand specific needs for surgical procedures. * Adhere to safety standards and infection control practices at all times. * Document all processes related to sterilization and maintenance of equipment as required by regulatory standards. *Qualifications* * Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding the functions of various medical instruments. * Proficiency in aseptic technique is required to maintain sterile environments. * Experience with inventory management systems is preferred for tracking supplies effectively. * Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial for communication within the healthcare team. * Previous experience in sterile processing or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
