ALBERT HOTEL is hiring for a FOOD RUNNER

Albert Hotel is located on a three-acre site from 242 to 248 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX. The hotel itself is tucked away from Main Street located behind the original historic buildings, creating a peaceful escape offering quiet sophistication just off bustling Main Street. The hotel has 110 guest rooms, including bunkrooms, suites, and a private house, and each room will have tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and little extras to make guests feel at home. The property has three restaurants, one bar, a private dining room, and will offer in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the inviting outdoor lagoon-style pool, a fitness center, and a 2,000 sq. foot full-service spa. The property is ideal for hosting events, with a 3,600 square-foot event space and a 1,200 square-foot mezzanine deck and event lawn.

JOB OVERVIEW

A Food Runner will assist the restaurant in fulfilling orders and delivering them to guest tables. A Food runner
ensures that items are delivered to the correct tables with the proper presentation and ingredients while assisting
the service team. The person in this role must have good communication skills and the ability to work within a
team.

What you'll do:
  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instruction
  • Maintain product knowledge to ensure accuracy of dishes and notify guests of ingredients
  • Maintain product allergen knowledge and pay close attention to ensure accuracy and proper communication of dishes with allergen alerts
  • Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware
  • Serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
  • Verify that guests have proper dishware and utensils needed for course upon delivery of food
  • Provide clear communication between front and back of house staff
  • Remove dishes and glassware from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
  • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining as needed
  • Stock area with dining supplies such as plates, utensils, glassware, and linens
  • Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings as required
Who you are:
  • You have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • You have 6 months related experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • You have State issued food handling certification as required.
  • You are able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
  • You are able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • You are able to speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
