Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, to provide leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of an Elementary School in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law. In addition, providing leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development.

Essential Functions
  • Actively supports growth of all teachers and students.
  • Demonstrates support of the TAP/NIET Evaluation tool with a current certification as an evaluator or willingness to gain certification.
  • Serves as the Key Instructional leader and models such behavior through participation at Cluster, Strategic Principals' meeting and in creating Cluster goals that hold each grade level at high expectations.
  • Administrator models professional, ethical and respectful behavior at all times.
  • Support staff in utilizing data to increase student achievement and teacher effectiveness.
  • Creates and supports high academic and behavior expectations.
  • Practices exemplary communication skills by professionally messaging key concepts and interacts with a variety of stakeholders in a proactive manner.
  • Actively and intentionally supports School Plans that work toward achievement of District Strategic Plan goals.
  • Analyzes achievement data, including all informative data, such as Evaluate, and other data including ISTEP and plans interventions based on such data to improve student achievement.

  • Exhibits knowledge of both high-quality instructional practices and curriculum.
