Job Title: Tax Director - Renewable Energy Sector
Renewable Energy Experience Required
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all US tax affairs for renewable operations, including Federal, State, and Local taxes.
- Structure and analyze tax equity investments to raise capital for renewable projects, including the execution of debt, tax equity, and equity financing transactions to achieve successful financial closures.
- Liaise with external advisors on financial and tax model development, cost segregation, determination of eligible costs for ITC, and valuation models.
- Conduct tax planning and modeling to optimally structure acquisitions and tax equity for future projects.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate the financial and tax aspects of debt and equity financing, including tax equity term sheets and associated documents.
- Monitor and analyze legislative changes to assess their potential impact and identify opportunities to minimize adverse effects.
- Perform technical tax research and analysis for special initiatives such as property tax and IRB.
- Coordinate the preparation of Federal, State, and withholding tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for renewable operations.
- Oversee the quarterly and annual income tax provision, including all related tax disclosures.
- Prepare monthly and annual tax reporting on group structure, tax changes, tax payments, and tax risk management. Assist in internal and external reporting on payments to governments and related transparency initiatives.
- Implement and maintain transfer pricing policies.
Qualifications:
- Authorization to work in the US for any employer.
- Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting from an accredited college or university; Masters of Tax preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or member of a US State Bar.
- 8+ years of work experience, including experience in tax planning, M&A, international tax, and accounting for income taxes.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP and OneSource highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Checkpoint BNA or other online research tools.
- Prior work experience in the renewable energy sector and/or tax equity is required.
