Job Summary:

RailPros has an immediate need of a Senior Civil Project Manager to join our outstanding team of engineering professionals. We are looking for a senior civil project manager with well-rounded experience, knowledge, and understanding in general civil engineering, transit and transportation, hydrology and hydraulics, strong Civil 3D proficiency and proven experience developing PS&E for civil projects. This is a great opportunity to grow with us and advance your career. We are very successful in winning both public and private projects as well as railway projects which require civil engineering support and civil projects requiring design and review of civil / utilities / drainage plans in various locations throughout the United States.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead a major project team or several moderate sized project teams for the organization
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Proficient with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Skills in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to manage budget, schedule, resources, client needs, and perform design work as necessary to meet project needs
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Client relations
  • Experience in proposal writing
  • Experience in business development and marketing business services
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • 20 years (min.) experience in general civil engineering design including a mix of roadway, drainage, earthwork, H&H, developing construction plans, specifications and estimates
  • Experience working with multiple disciplines within a project scope
  • Experience in field engineering and/or Design Support During Construction
  • Proficient is technical writing specifically specifications in multiple formats
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Proficient in site grading, utility and drainage design
  • Proficient in street improvement design and public works design
  • Experience in site development
  • Experience developing and leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 15+ years prior experience
  • 5+ years prior experience in project management
  • Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
  • Business development skills
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and guidelines
  • Established relationships with railroad clients
  • Proficient in Hydrology/Hydraulic design and calculations
  • Experience with transit related projects including facilities
  • Experience in track design
  • Experience in traffic design
  • Experience in both public and private sectors
  • Experience in using MicroStation
  • SUSMPs, WQMPs and SWPPPs experience
  • QSD/QSP registration
  • Experience in Facility Design
  • Experience in Right of Entry permit processing
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
  • Professional Engineer (PE), equivalent, or authorization of CLPO
  • Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, recognized expert on statewide activity, resource for national activities and organization
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supervising and managing a variety of engineering projects
  • Supervise several organizational segments or teams
  • Recommend facilities, personnel, and funds required to carry out programs
  • Oversee the technical, legal, and financial issues of an entire program
  • Determine program objectives and requirements
  • Develop standards and guidelines
