**Job Summary**

Responsible for state and federal operational permitting, compliance reporting and various other regulatory filing requirements with multiple governmental agencies. Coordinates with operational teams to ensure full compliance with governmental rules/regulations. Provides regulatory compliance support to other teams both individually and within a team/multi-team meeting environment. Updates data management software for tracking and reporting.

Performs a range of routine to semi-complex work assignments. Acts as the regulatory compliance liaison for multiple operational teams. Established knowledge of rules and regulations within the area of specialization. Exercises judgment within defined guidelines to solve moderately complex regulatory issues while seeking assistance in resolving more complex issues. Works under a moderate level of supervision but is expected to make routine decisions with little to no supervision.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Prepares and enters data online or in paper form for filing of various regulatory documents including drilling permit applications, sundry notices, and completion reports.

+ Coordinates with other company departments to gather needed information for regulatory filings and compliance notifications.

+ Develops Excel routers for automation of regulatory filings.

+ Creates and updates OneNote trackers and agendas.

+ Updates necessary databases for tracking submittals, approvals, and regulatory deadlines

+ Reviews and interprets well location plats for regulatory filings and compliance.

+ Researches, documents and stays current regarding regulatory policies and rules

+ Engages in regulatory discussions with asset teams

+ Provides weekly regulatory updates in team meetings

+ Personal commitment to inclusion and diversity

+ Other duties as assigned

**Skills and Competencies**

+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral

+ Proficient computer skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products

+ Proven team player with the ability to be flexible and multi-task

+ Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, taking initiative to accomplish goals in an efficient manner while meeting strict regulatory deadlines

+ Strong initiative skills to guide others in regulatory policies, rules, and deadlines to provide the needed data accurately and in a timely manner

+ Outside the box thinker who consistently looks for efficiencies

+ Ability to work closely with others but also independently with little supervision

+ Knowledge of oil and gas governmental regulations

+ Experience in state oil and gas land concepts including spacing, unit, location exception, and commingling orders.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university

+ Ability to travel around 5%.

+ Valid drivers license with a good driving record

+ An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelors Degree in Math, Business, or Science from an accredited college or university

+ 2+ years of experience related to state or federal regulatory oil and gas filings with the Railroad Commission of Texas

+ Experience reading and interpreting pooling/spacing orders and Texas field rules

+ Willing to travel to meet with governmental agencies and/or field personnel

**Physical Requirements and Working Conditions**

+ Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping.

+ Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

+ Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
