Position Purpose

This position is full time (40 hours weekly) supporting the San Francisco Community School Club. This position is benefits eligible.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Leadership-30%

  • Provide day-to-day support for BGCSF staff to provide clear direction of needs, activities and responsibilities for each day of programming.
  • Manage the daily schedules and monthly calendars to ensure that staff are delivering quality programs, meeting requirements and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Build positive relationships with the school community - staff, administration, families and students - to ensure that all voices are represented and communication is effective.
  • Working with key stakeholders, coordinate high-quality school wide events, including monthly Family Nights, assemblies and other events as needed.
Successful goal completion & participant outcomes-20%
  • With the Site Director, create program goals, objectives, outcomes and evaluation instruments before the start of each school year.
  • Conduct regular program observations and provide feedback and strategies directly to staff, and in program development, to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Maintain all program records.
Staff and volunteer management-10%
  • Work with Site Director and HR to recruit, screen, hire, train, supervise and terminate staff.
  • Manage volunteers on-site to maintain professionalism, punctuality and the safety of students at all times.
  • Assist in the professional development of staff and maintain a current knowledge of the education and youth development trends.
Data Management-20%
  • Manage data entry of member, attendance, and volunteer and teen work experience hours in database system.
  • Maintain data accurately and according to prescribed standards and guidelines, including troubleshooting errors in entries and reporting on information by deadlines.
  • Establish systems to ensure staff provide consistently accurate data in a timely fashion, including clearly communicating expectations.
  • Sustain open lines of communication with supervisor and staff regarding areas for improvement, updates to existing systems, and requests for support.
Administrative Support-20%
  • Responsible for managing phone calls, retrieving voicemails, responding to emails and working directly with parents.
  • Provide Parent/Family/New Member Orientations.
  • Manage flow of pick up, ensuring that youth are being sent out in a timely manner
  • Responsible for making sure that all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements

Required Skills
  • Bachelors degree with 2 years of experience OR 4 years of related work experience OR a Masters degree in education, administration, social services or related field plus a minimum of 1 year of program administration.
  • Experience in program development and management.
  • Proficient in working with MS Excel/Office and attendance database systems.
  • CPR/1st Aid certified (within 90 days of employment).
  • Fingerprint and TB test clearance mandatory prior to hire.
  • Experience working in communities of color and with low-income populations.
Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the best practices in youth development program planning, curriculum development, methods of teaching, and evaluation.
  • Clean DMV record and the ability to transport youth in the BGCSF vehicles.
  • Proven ability to work with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual orientation backgrounds.
  • Familiarity and experience working in or with schools and with community based organizations.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs. (25lbs for direct services)
  • Must be able to stand for at least 1 hour consecutively. (2 hours for direct services)
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range starts at $22 per hour.
