If so, Jefferson Healthcare invites you to apply for our Medical Assistant Apprentice Program. Our MA Apprentices are partnered with an experienced coach who will be your mentor throughout the program, giving you hands on training to prepare you for the Medical Assistant exam. The program will begin with a mandatory virtual cohort kick-off event on January 24th, 2025, and then consist of 2000 hours of in clinic training as well as, on average 10 hours a week of online classwork that includes models and quizzes. We are seeking candidates who are eager to learn and dedicated to furthering their education while providing excellent patient care. What you'll need:Must be 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredA cover letter describing why you are interested in the programBLS certification within 30 days of hireStrong customer service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectivelyExperience with technology What we can offer you:Partnership with an experienced MA-C coachHands on training in multiple clinics Earn while you leanCompetitive wage , including low insurance premiums for individuals and families.No student loan debt: Jefferson Healthcare will cover the program tuition*Schedule: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week, Day shift, Monday - Friday Program Highlights:12 to 18 month program 2000 hours of on-the-job training 410 hours of supplemental online coursework Attend 3 in person lab daysMeet all Apprentice Expectations as outlined in the syllabusPay is a set wage of $21.44/hr for the first 1000 hours then $22.37/hr for 1001-2000 hours. If you are currently a member of the union, you will retain all union benefits.Day in the life of a Certified Medical AssistantGreats patients and escorts them to the exam roomTake patients vital signs in preparation for appointmentDocuments in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Anticipates needs of the Provider to maintain efficient patient flowPerforms phlebotomy and laboratory procedures as directed by the ProviderPerforms and documents injections and immunizationsEnsures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients Assists Providers with procedures, exams, and patient education Manages appropriate patient referrals and required documentationObserves and follows required safety protocols, including handling and disposal of sharps, use of personal protective equipment, exposure to blood borne pathogens, and general safety of employees and patients.Supports care team membersOrders medication refills within scope of practice as directed by the ProviderTo apply: Please visit our website at *Tuition payback provisions apply.* Candidates who accept a written offer of employment must pass a background check and may be required to undergo 11-panel testing for commonly abused controlled substances, including marijuana, in accordance with our policy.
