Credit and Collections Specialist

Responsible for AR collections activity to reduce past-due customer balances.
Essential Job Duties
- Identify, verify and resolve unpaid accounts through positive customer service outreach to customer to process payments.
- Research and resolve customer billing inquiries and disputes.
- Work with AR Specialist to research payments and account reconciliations.
- Report on collections activities with supervisor and assist in preparing monthly reports.
- Respond to customer inquiries, communicate with field staff on collection issues and disputed items.
- Determine credit limits and payment terms for new customers based on customer credit reports.
- Analyze existing customer accounts to update payment terms based on current credit reports and payment history.
- Make recommendations for third party collections to supervisor.
- Assist supervisor on daily AR reporting and activity for management.
- Must have one to three years of directly related experience.
- Previous AR experience in a business-to-business environment is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products - specifically Excel, and Outlook.
- Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under moderate supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
- General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
