KBR’s Defense Systems Engineering Division is seeking a
Senior Mechanical Engineering Technologist . When you join our team, you’ll serve in a key role, representing KBR to outside organizations, our customers, and partners. As a senior team member, you’ll use your expertise to provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers alongside a team of scientists and other engineering staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for design, specification, selection, and services relating to mechanical equipment. Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Apply theory and principles of mechanical engineering to modify, develop, test, or adjust machinery and equipment alongside scientists and other engineering staff.
Work on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of the program and perform all functional duties
independently. May
oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
Education: MS degree in
Mechanical/Electrical
Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Experience: 10(+) years of experience, which includes 6 years specifically working with/within Mechanical Engineering Technologies.
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a DOD clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer
Experience supporting DOD Customers
