Who You Are

You are an experienced Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) leader with process safety experience who is excited to advance our EHS&S commitment of focus, simplicity, and learning. You have successfully built a culture of safety engagement and continuous improvement in an organization that brings new technology from Research to Manufacturing. Our growth and success in technology development will depend on a proactive and effective approach, combined with highly-utilized environmental, health, and safety compliance programs. You are a respected technical leader who empowers and inspires others through knowledge transfer and your commitment to learn from those doing the work. Your forward thinking, strategic direction, and ability to communicate internally and externally will be critical to our success as we look to build larger facilities in the near future.
Responsibilities And Duties
  • Lead an experienced, high-performing EHS&S team in developing and supporting personnel across the organization with a goal to empower others and create a communicative safety culture. Provide leadership and direction for the company within all areas of process safety, environmental regulation, personnel health, security, and safety.
  • Influence and support a plant EHS&S team and the Technical Process Safety function.
  • Develop, implement, and continually refresh a company-wide EHS&S vision with a roadmap and business model that ensures we strategically identify needs, opportunities, and delivery of support.
  • Align the organization, leadership, and new employees on a common safety vision and ensure proper engagement across all aspects of the organization.
  • Manage and implement programs that meet the vision and foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Programs should be built for those that use them by partnering with managers, supervisors, and employees to understand occupational health and safety risks and by integrating concepts that empower and sustain safe work habits and behaviors across all levels of the organization.
  • Support the company in the development, improvement, and management of EH&S Management Systems for our company. Develop and implement continuous improvement concepts to better the company's safety and environmental performance.
Knowledge And Skill Requirements
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in EHS&S and leadership roles
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety and Occupational Health or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, listening, communication, and analytical skills with an affinity for mentoring and developing others, and for change-management.
  • Proven track record of developing EHS&S cultures and driving engagement across the organization.
  • Experience with industrial workplace hazards, corresponding programs, hazardous materials, and challenges with scaling processes and designing new tools.
  • A certificate in occupational health and safety management, ideally from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), including: Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician is preferred
  • High volume manufacturing experience in semiconductor, PV, chemical industry, batteries or similar is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and key design codes, including but not limited to NFPA, International Fire Code, CGA regulations and Air and Waste permitting regulations
Physical Demands And Working Conditions
  • Walking or standing for extended periods of time
  • Working at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel to support new team growth in next facility

Work Schedule

Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Payscale Disclosure

The starting base pay for this role is between $190,000 and $239,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
