Nursing Program Coordinator, Structural Heart Disease

Scope of Position

The Structural Heart Disease (SHD) program is a multidisciplinary team made up of physicians, advanced practice providers and nursing staff. Patients referred to the SHD program require multiple tests and clinical consultations to diagnose and treat patients with structural heart abnormalities. The Nursing Program Coordinator, in collaboration with the SHD team, will coordinate the clinical care of the patients referred for SHD services.

Position Summary

The Nursing Program Coordinator works with physicians and advanced practice providers to coordinate the care for patients who are referred for and receiving care for Structural Heart Program services. The Nursing Program Coordinator provides leadership by serving as the patient's educator, consultant, and liaison for the medical, surgical, and nursing staff. The Nursing Program Coordinator participates in the coordination of patient care activities in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary health team, identifies and evaluates current clinical practices through performance improvement, and provides education when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire:

Education

Registered Nurse

Baccalaureate degree in nursing required, Masters in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Care Management preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical service area of cardiology, cardiology critical care, or cardiac cath lab. Management experience a plus.

Demonstration of TQM, leadership, communication, organizational and management skills.

Demonstrated experience in providing educational seminars

C. Certification/Licensure

1. Current licensure of a Registered Nurse in State of Ohio

2. Current ACLS certification.
