The Opportunity:

Maureen Joy Charter School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to lead and oversee our operational teams, ensuring that our K-8 charter school operates smoothly and efficiently. This pivotal role includes the management of our Technology Director, Front Office Staff, Child Nutrition Staff, Maintenance Staff, Custodial Staff, School Nurse, Athletics, and Transportation Coordinator. How We Think This Role Will Work to Create a Robust Operations System:The Director of Operations will play a critical role in enhancing our school's operational systems by integrating strategic leadership with operational expertise. Through effective management and innovative strategies, this role will ensure that our operational infrastructure supports our mission of delivering exceptional education to our students.

Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Education Management, Education Leadership, or a related field preferred.
    • Master's degree preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within an educational or similar setting preferred.
    • Proven experience leading diverse teams.
    • Strong knowledge of school or organizational system operations with the ability to adapt and evolve these areas to align with our school redesign goals.
    • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
    • Ability to develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency and effectiveness system-wide, particularly in the context of school redesign.

Essential Responsibilities
    • Oversee the development and management of the operational budget.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and school policies, with an eye towards flexibility and adaptability in our redesign process.
    • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to support operational needs.
    • Collaborate with the Principal to align operational strategies with financial planning and redesign priorities.
    • Establish and maintain daily school operations (e.g., arrival and dismissal, attendance, meal service).
    • Open Enrollment management and facilitation (e.g., managing and facilitating the full-cycle student recruitment process, managing the student enrollment process through Scribbles, manage and facilitate the student lottery).
    • Oversee all internal and external events [e.g., field trips, visitors from external stakeholders, special events, formals, promotions, fundraisers parent events (I.e., conferences, winter and spring concerts, PTO meetings)].
    • Coordinate of assemblage of the Student and Family Handbook.
    • Facilitate and manage the inventory of school, office, and operations supplies.
Miscellaneous
    • This is a full-time, 12-month position with competitive salary and benefits.
    • Position may require occasional evening or weekend hours for meetings or events.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Senior Director of Leadership and the Executive Director.
