Research Engineer Internship and Part-time Employment

Matrix Research is an employee-owned, small business comprised of industry leaders who are advancing the state of the art in radar systems, radio frequency, and sensor exploitation technologies. Nearly half our technical staff holds a Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, or the Physical Sciences. Our programs span basic research through low-rate production of advanced sensing systems, subsystems, and components. INTERNS ARE EXPECTED TO WORK ONSITE.

Matrix Research, Inc. is currently seeking Research Engineer Interns and Part-time Student Employees for our growing business in Dayton, OH. Candidates will be expected to assist with the demonstration and execution of advanced research related to RF measurement collection, processing and exploitation.

Position Qualifications

-Education
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or advanced technical degree program in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or related. Students seeking a Bachelor's degree must be a Junior or Senior.
-Experience or coursework in one or more of the following technical areas:
  • digital signal and image processing
  • pattern recognition, machine learning and computer vision
  • Kalman filtering, tracker design and implementation
  • Statistics and probability theory
  • Linear algebra and matrix computations
-Experience or coursework with programming:
  • must have experience using MATLAB
  • willingness to learn other languages as needed (C, C++, Julia, Python).
-Other competencies:
  • Be willing to learn and be teachable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with others in a friendly professional manner.
  • Detail oriented
  • Adaptable with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, goal-oriented, and past history of academic success
  • Be able to work unsupervised at times and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Applicants must be US citizens capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD security clearance.
