Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Brown & Brown is seeking an Account Manager to join our Employee Benefits team in Portland, Oregon*This is a hybrid position* WHAT YOU'LL DO: Responsible for renewal process from start to finish including but not limited to: pre-renewal analysis, renewal analysis, and renewal administrationLead open enrollment process including but not limited to: creation of marketing materials, system training, onsite set up & client trouble shootingAdvise and direct clients on claims issues, administration, benefit plans and federal/state laws such as: COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA etc.Answer customer and carrier questions through all means of communications such as through calls, personal meetings, seminars, etc. All customer inquiries must receive a response on the day they are received or by noon the following day if the request arrives in late afternoonDiscuss various funding mechanism options with customers, such as level funding, self-funding, etc.Act as an expert regarding Account Management and advocate for customers on employee claim issues, carrier relations, and all related duties. Activities are logged, and documentation filed in Benefit Account Management (BAM).Follow new customer onboarding process including sending BORs to carriers, completing ICR/Top Gun, compliance paperwork to new customers. Activities are tracked and all items filed in BAM within 30 days of receipt.Review carrier certificates/policies/SPDs for accuracy, complete contract review checklist and file appropriately in IR before sending final versions to customersResponsible for identifying opportunities to round out accounts with additional lines of coverage. Other department sales goals or specific individual goals may be assigned.Other duties or special projects may be assignedWHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) with three (3) years of experience in the field of Employee Benefits Administration or high school graduate with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience, other combination of work and/or education will be consideredSolid knowledge and understanding of group health and welfare benefit plan coverage, current legislation, rules, laws, and other regulations.
