We are looking for a Benefits & Payroll Specialist to join our team The Benefits & Payroll Specialist is responsible for the efficient administration of employee benefits programs and payroll processes within the organization. This role involves managing the day-to-day activities related to benefits enrollment, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with applicable taxes and regulations. The Benefits and Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining accurate employee records, resolving payroll issues, and enhancing the overall employee experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs.
  • Assist employees with benefits related claims and resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Administer workers' compensation and COBRA claims with third-party administrator.
  • Assist with coordination and execution of employee wellness and philanthropic efforts.
  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Verify and input payroll data, including new hires, terminations, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding benefits and payroll.
  • Generate and submit required payroll and benefits reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment laws and ensure policies and practices align with legal requirements.
  • Responsible for meeting coordination, general correspondence, presentation preparation and other administrative responsibilities as needed.
  • Respond to routine HR questions including, but not limited to benefits, payroll, vacation or redirect employees to appropriate contacts.
  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.
  • File confidential human resource paperwork including medical information and sensitive material.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 1-2 years benefits experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and applicable laws preferred
  • Exceptional follow-through, attention to detail and organization
  • Customer and/or employee oriented individual, with strong oral and written communication, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to take on the administrative duties, heavy workflow processing
  • Must be a team player
  • Proven ability to manage extremely confidential information
