Job Description:

The Senior Systems Engineer shall be responsible for participating in Information Assurance (IA) system, hardware, and software design activities with focus on leading evaluation of requirements generation, allocation and tracking throughout the development cycle to ensure supportability for security certification. The Senior Systems Engineer shall also be responsible for performing implementation and technology studies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide identification and fixing of problems within existing systems, design, and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Participates in analysis, design, and new construction of next generation IT systems. Building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc. Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work products in Technical Process Area associated with the ISO/IEC 15288 Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Projects and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas Assist in performing system engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations. Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of project’s technical designs. Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products in each of the ISO/IEC 15288 Project and Technical Process Areas Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and process for a project. Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation. Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue. Understanding and applying AWS IAM roles and security policies.

Skills

Experience as a system engineer on one or more platforms is preferred. Experience with Python and Bash scripting for system automation Must have a solid technical background with a focus on IT systems. Experience with AWS architecture, security, IAM roles and policies. Experience developing automation for existing in a cloud environment using tools such as Cloud Formation, Ansible, and Packer. Experience developing and deploying DevSecOps capabilities within a multi-project, multi-team environment. Deliver infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or Packer. Knowledge of integrated components such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. Experience troubleshooting LINUX system networking, storage, and related services. Knowledge of full lifecycle management techniques testing, integration, change management, security, and authentication services.

What You’ll Need

Must have one of the following DoD approved certifications to meet the category/level IAT-2 (DoD 8570) requirement for this position: Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, or GCED. Required Education & Experience: High School/GED (+12) years of relevant experience. AD (+10) years of relevant experience. BA/BD (+6) years of relevant experience. Master's degree (+4) years of relevant experience, or PHD (+2) years of relevant experience.
