Technical Recruiter placing talent at innovative and mission-driven organizations Location: Hybrid (DMV Area) | Type: Direct Hire Were seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)someone who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, mission execution, and real?world impact. This role is ideal for an engineer who loves building in the field, solving complex problems, and seeing the direct results of their work in high?stakes environments. The Opportunity Youll work directly with end usersfrom analysts to executivesto deliver customized, mission?aligned software solutions. This isnt a back?office engineering role; its hands?on, high?impact, and built for someone who enjoys operating close to the mission. What Youll Do Architect, develop, and deploy technical solutions tailored to real?world mission needs. Integrate advanced data platforms with diverse systems, APIs, and data sources. Build and iterate on software tools that unlock insights from unstructured and multilingual datasets. Collaborate with analysts, operators, and engineers to translate complex requirements into working solutions. Serve as the technical lead in the fieldensuring projects move from concept to deployment seamlessly. Provide feedback from deployments to shape internal product development. What You Bring 3+ years of software engineering experience (full?stack or systems?level). Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or a similar language. Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and modern web frameworks. Ability to prototype quickly, iterate often, and operate confidently in dynamic environments. Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging both technical and non?technical teams. Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one) highly preferred. Willingness to travel 3070% based on project needs. Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance strongly preferred.
