Description:
- Seeking a 2nd shift CNC Lathe Machinist candidate to perform full set-ups in a job shop environment.
- Candidates will be responsible troubleshooting machines, reading complex prints, and setting machines up to hold tolerances of +/- 0.0002.
- The materials will be a variety of stainless and exotic materials such as stainless, aluminum, Inconel, titanium, brass, etc...
- Live tooling is a preferred experience.
- They have 5 different lathes there with a couple that are dual spindle twin turrets. (Nakamura, Puma, and Doosan)
- Will be performing on average of 1 setup per shift, but sometimes it will be more than that depending on if its a new job setup or repeat. As well if it is a complicated part and a long/shorter run. (Sometimes there will be a 4 hour setup for a 1 hour run time)
- 100 parts to 5,000 parts sometimes
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of CNC lathe set-up experience
- 2+ years of machining in a medical or aerospace environment holding tolerances of +-.0002
- Live-tooling or multi-axis experience preferred
- Knowledge of Tooling applications for exotic metals a plus
- Ability to read and understand CNC programs and operational layouts as required
- Understand tooling requirements to set-up and operate machines in the department, including pre-setting of tools
Description:
- Lead/Coach/Train/Develop/Mentor machinist/operators and cross trains current employees on operations, set-ups, and procedures; assures proper and complete knowledge of such training is signed off.
- Highly advanced and skilled machinist.Go-to machinist for tight tolerance, high risk aerospace machining.
- Support team with 1st Article runs, Inspection with Aerospace grade materials and Aerospace standards.
- Manage set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of a cell of 12 - 15 CNC machines.
- Adheres to Core values, safety and quality requirements
- Coordinates daily production needs that address safety, quality and productivity.
- Programming support in Gibbs and/or Mastercam
- Experience with Multi Spindle, Multi Turret CNC machines.
- Experience using live tooling.
- Low volume and high product mix production.
- Create corrective action plans for quality spills, knowledge gaps, or any mishaps in assigned cells.Make recommendations for improvements.
- Communicate with the team, engineering, and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Two (2) year Technical degree in a related field
- 15+ years of CNC machine experience, majority in aerospace is required
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, SPC, mechanical inspection methods and trigonometry
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Leads by example.
- Thorough knowledge of machining methods and procedures as they apply to work assignments
- Demonstrated ability to perform and inspect assigned machining functions, including complex and complicated processes
- Excellent communication skills
