Roles and Responsibilities:

• The qualified candidate should be familiar with the design and operation of utility electrical systems which they can apply their knowledge for developing new designs • The ability to apply engineering calculations to various project challenges to develop the most complete and competent design • Perform quality reviews of project deliverables

Required Education/Experience:

• A BSEE, BSEET, BSME or BSCE degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option • Three (3) + years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) • The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development • Prior utility experience • Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and utility best practices • Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills • Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education/Experience:

• Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent in the state of Texas, or ability to achieve P.E. within six (6) months of hire date • Exposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS); GE Smallworld, ArcFM, DDS etc. • The ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and drafters • Travel should be expected
