UVA Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is seeking a Senior Financial Compliance Analyst to join their team to primarily oversee post award compliance related to subaward management, cost sharing, cost transfers and salary certifications. Reporting to the Assistant Director of OSP Post Award Financial Compliance, this position provides an option to work on-site, hybrid or fully remote, following the University's remote work guidelines. Analysts should have a strong focus on financial compliance to minimize the University's risks related to sponsored awards.

Senior Financial Compliance Analysts in Office of Sponsored Programs develop, interpret, and implement highly complex financial and accounting concepts with special focus in internal controls for managing the regulatory requirements of sponsored programs. Some financial compliance areas are subaward management, cost sharing, cost transfers, and salary certifications. Senior analysts coordinate with all levels of management within and outside the University to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial compliance oversight. They act as consultants to management on application of post award financial policies, procedures, and application. Senior Financial Compliance Analysts also offer guidance to and work with department administrators and OSP functional areas on complex financial matters to ensure Sponsor and University policies and procedures are followed consistently, utilizing data, and reporting tools where appropriate. Senior Financial Compliance Analysts are distinguished by experience and depth of knowledge. They may provide functional and technical direction to the Office of Sponsored Programs, departments, and faculty.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Gather and organize information from a variety of sources to establish data banks for use in analyzing and recommending process changes in sponsored programs' financial compliance Prepare and present reports of findings and recommendations to management.

* Provide expert advice and interpretation regarding all levels of financial compliance activities required by Federal and VA State accounting principles.

* Work with OSP Post-Award Assistant Director and Manager of Financial Compliance team on system upgrades or strategic realignment of the workforce necessary to increase quality and/or efficiency in achieving financial compliance objectives.

* Provide guidance to departments on financial management of sponsored programs and ensure sponsor and University policies and procedures are followed consistently to minimize the University's risk related to non-compliance with federal requirements.

Anticipated starting salary: $80,000 annually; commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

* Education: Bachelor's degree* Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in research administration.

Preferred Certification: Licensure: Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification.

Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
