OVERVIEW

Recruit, train, schedule and support Volunteers performing intake, preparation, review, and delivery of Federal and State income tax returns at Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. This position also provides assistance to the Quality Tax Expert with the Low-Income Tax Clinic which handles clients who are experiencing tax controversy. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high degree of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist in preparing required program reports with supervisory oversight Develop calendared schedule with VITA volunteers at Pio Decimo Center Be available to assist site coordinators at area VITA sites as needed Monitor area VITA sites to ensure they remain in compliance with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidelines Lead efforts to recruit new VITA volunteers Conduct training as required by IRS certification guidelines and provide advanced training for volunteers who will be able to perform quality review Become familiar with and be able to provide guidance on the use of tax software as designated by IRS guidelines Comply with all IRS VITA program requirements and be able to communicate effectively with the IRS personnel designated to represent CCS in Southern Arizona May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources. Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience Ability to obtain IRS VITA tax certification Experience with tax returns, and knowledge of current tax laws affecting individuals, families, and small businesses 2 years of experience in appointment scheduling or administrative support experience Basic knowledge of hardware and software components that enable efficient use of the internet on desktops and laptops Basic knowledge of common office machines including phones, copiers, and fax machines Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational skills including personnel and file management Proven strong communication skills - oral and written communications are clear and concise using appropriate style, grammar, and tone

REGULATORY Must be at least 18 years of age Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid) Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master Degree or equivalent experience Enrolled Agent Certification Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written Additional years of experience with tax preparation
