Position Description: Laserflex, part of the Ryerson Family of Companies has an opportunity for a Painter position. As a Painter you are responsible for prepping, painting and moving orders in our metal fabrication facility. The future will be made from metal. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 4:00 am: 2:30pm, The operating hours may vary depending on the projects. Roles and Responsibilities: Perform surface preparation work required for the job by hand or using power tools as needed (strip, sand, mask, prime, Cathacoat Mix various types of paint based on technical specifications Apply the required number of coats of paint based on customer specifications using specialized tools and techniques to achieve a smooth and even finish, remove parts from racks once dry Maintain paint spraying, paint mixing, paint booth and related equipment in a clean and satisfactory working condition. Perform final surface requirements after painting is completed. Enter times and quantities for all work performed into operating system to track work orders Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment including PPE Ability to safely execute job tasks to meet productivity goals All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: 3-5 years of painting experience, specifically on metal finishes Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, color matching, blending and spray equipment Mechanical and mathematical aptitude to mix paint monitoring & problem-solving skills Ability to navigate on a computer to find information, enter information when prompted and print as necessary Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing and mobility Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills IND543 We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier.
