Communications Manager

is responsible for developing and implementing the internal and external communications plan for an assigned business unit while ensuring consistency in messaging. How you will make an impact: Leads the research of both associate and external communication needs and establishes goals and objectives. Acts as communications lead for key cross-regional projects. Works with senior executives in message preparation including, writing, editing and strategic planning of messages to internal audiences. Develops speeches and other presentations for senior team. Leads strategic development of messages for regular manager forums for top management. Serves as senior editor of corporate and/or online communications. Works with intranet and internet team in posting of appropriate messages and to guide development of internal tools. Requires a BA/BS in public relations, journalism, communications, or related area; 7 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences: MS preferred. Working knowledge of managed care and the health insurance industry preferred. For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $89,460 to $153,360. Locations: New York; District of Columbia (Washington, DC).
