LOCATION

This is a remote position. Up to 10% travel is required, to attend in-office meetings as required. Candidates must reside in the United States and be willing to work a corporate, day-shift schedule on Eastern Standard Time.

Our Ideal candidates will reside within commuting distance to one of our major office locations in Baltimore, MD Chicago, IL or Houston, TX for in-person meetings as needed.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Arise Energy was founded with the simple mission to make corporate energy purchasing easier. Our proprietary, self-service, online platform lets customers take control over their energy purchasing and our client-focused team of advisors help customers achieve cost, budget and sustainability goals. Arise Energy is an independent subsidiary of Constellation, a Fortune 200 clean energy leader.

The Energy Analyst II position within Arise Energy's Broker Operations team is responsible for monitoring and executing day-to-day workflow activities as well as managing medium to complex exception handling activities while meeting service level agreements with internal and external customers. The Analyst II is responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in the assigned business function areas. The Analyst II will directly collaborate with team members, third party suppliers, sales team, and cross functional teams to support changing business needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure Effortless Customer Experience Performing Operational Duties (Operational Excellence): Responsible for one or more of the following functions of the order to cash process: creating electricity/natural gas pricing requests initiated by assigned sales representatives, analysis of pricing from multiple third party suppliers, presentation of the pricing requests in a predetermined format, and contract requests as determined by the sales representative Receive, review, and input customer utility information into CRM for assigned customers/sales representative Create request for pricing (RFP) for third party suppliers based on sales representative criteria request contract documents, review details, and assist with sales representative to execute with customer and third party suppliers input all executed contract details into CRM Verify monthly commission reports with third party suppliers and accounting team
  • Problem Solving and Issue Resolution (Problem Solving / Analytics): Exercise appropriate judgment and analytical abilities, leveraging subject matter experts when necessary, to investigate discrepancies in work processes. Take necessary actions to resolve issues and work with other functional teams as needed.
  • Cross Functional Communications (Operational Excellence): Review and communicate issues to team members, leads, management and stakeholders with emphasis on customer information. Initiate and foster collaboration with team members to ensure seamless customer support and knowledge transfer. Interface with internal and/or external customers in handling and resolving inquires as needed. Proactively communicate workflow system or process concerns to avoid or fully remediate issues that cross multiple groups. Adopt and support change management activities.
  • Projects, Improvements, and Innovation (Process Improvements/Projects): Challenge the status quo to automate and improve processes through innovation, with focus and intent on creating sustainable solutions. Leverage knowledge and experience in working with project groups, Information Technology, and cross-functional teams for key deliverables. Identify and create business requirements based on changing business needs. Develop test scripts for business processes, system enhancements and bug fixes as needed.
  • Comprehension/Adherence of Policies and Controls (Operational Excellence): Maintain an understanding of business, contractual, regulatory, and market/tariff policies and ensure assigned workflow processes are aligned. Ensure that all Sarbanes-Oxley ('SOX') Key Controls and other company policies are followed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ yrs work experience required or 5+ yrs combination of education and relevant work experience Strong computer background/experience, including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Energy pricing experience - electricity and/or natural gas pricing experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in the retail energy industry and/or regulated energy industry
  • Prior experience in the retail energy industry using CRM and/or Order-to-Cash workflow systems, such as Hubspot
  • Working knowledge of UDC/ISO/LDC market EDI transactions
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, such as pivot tables and v-lookups, strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Technology or Supply Chain Management
